Minor league baseball player John Locklear, a member of the North Carolina Lumbee Indian Tribe, believes that his self-imosed isolation from the human race is a permanent fact of life, as he pursues his goal of being called up to The Show (major league baseball).  A series of unexpected events throws his life into chaos, and forever changes the trajectory of his existence, as he battles through reminiscences, flashbacks, and tragedy to emerge ultimately victorious, a man of faith.  "Found on the Road..." eclectically integrates elements of minor league baseball, recovery from child abuse, Christian hymns and hymnology, and... of course opossums, who appear periodically in literal and metaphorical forms.
